Choreography is the Heart of Musical Freestyle

To thoroughly consider the Technical and Artistic Marks in an FEI, USDF or WDAA dressage musical freestyle, you can’t help but realize just how important it is to have carefully-planned, balanced and innovative choreography. It is the true key to achieving the best scores and delighting the judges and audience.

While music is vitally important, the choreography, pattern and compulsory movements are most critical. We are careful when designing as to not include elements above the level of showing as it will incur penalties or elimination. The choreography shows off your abilities and charismatic strengths suitable to the genre of music we utilize.

There are many conditions that must be met even after considering requirements, not the least of which is including the clever incorporation of those movements, figures, gaits, and patterns the horse does particularly well. Every musical freestyle is as unique as the pair performing it.
